Why it matters

In a world of urgent, interlinked challenges — from biodiversity loss to widening inequality — it's not enough to fix problems at the surface. We need to work at the level of systems.

The Systems Strategy Lab is a two-day learning space for those navigating complexity and seeking regenerative change. It blends systems thinking, Theory U, and embodied facilitation into a powerful approach for working with deeper patterns, relational dynamics, and strategic leverage.

You’ll step out of daily firefighting and into a space of reflection, connection, and practical tools — walking away with renewed clarity on how to lead systemically in your work and world.

What to expect

This workshop introduces the foundations of systems change while offering space to apply insights to the issues you care about most.

Day 1: Seeing Systems

Make sense of complexity using core systems thinking tools — from causal loops to archetypes — and explore how mental models shape the outcomes we see.

Day 2: Working with Dynamics

Deepen your practice by mapping relationships, power, and polarities — and experiment with new ways of seeing and shifting systems through reflection and embodiment.

What You'll Walk Away With
  • A practical understanding of how systems behave — and why that matters

  • Practical tools like the Iceberg Model, Causal Loops, archetypes, stakeholder mapping, and more

  • New ways of seeing power, conflict, and stuckness — and how to move through them

  • A peer community of fellow changemakers working across sectors

  • Complimentary 45-minute 1:1 systems consultation for the first five signups

Build clarity.

Find leverage.

Lead systemically.

Frequently asked questions

What's the size of the workshop?

We keep the workshop intentionally small to create space for interaction and personalized facilitation. The group will be between 7 and 20 participants. This ensures that everyone has opportunities to contribute while still benefiting from diverse perspectives in the room.

I can’t make it for these dates. Is there another run of this workshop?

Fill in this expression of interest form to let us know your preferred dates - we'll keep you updated on future runs.
We also offer tailored versions of this workshop for teams and organizations. If you're looking to build systems capacity in-house, we’d love to explore what that could look like. You can reach out to us here.

Who is this workshop for?

The Systems Strategy Lab is designed for people working in the messy middle of change — where there are no simple answers.

We welcome:

  • Funders seeking to shift complex systems through strategic resourcing

  • Nonprofits and NGOs designing for long-term, adaptive impact

  • Mission-led businesses navigating growth with integrity and purpose

  • Cross-sector partnerships grappling with power, complexity, and collaboration

  • Other enablers of change

You don’t need to be a systems expert. You just need curiosity and a real-world challenge to explore.

We welcome multiple participants from the same organisation to join.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No formal preparation is required — just come with an open mind, open heart and open will.
That said, you'll get the most out of the workshop if you bring along a real-world systems challenge you're working on or curious about. This could be something from your work or community — big or small, clear or fuzzy. We'll use these as starting points for applying the tools and reflections throughout the two days. Don't worry — we’ll guide you in framing it during the session.

What happens after this session?

The first five signups will be offered a complimentary 1:1 systems consultation session after the workshop — a chance to reflect, ask questions, and get tailored support to apply what you’ve learned to your real-world context.

We also welcome you into an evolving community of systems-minded changemakers, with priority access to future learning opportunities.
