An Introduction to Unlocking Systems Thinking for Regeneration and Social Impact

UPCOMING WORKSHOP

Why it matters

In a world of interconnected crises, quick fixes often miss the mark. Whether you're working on environmental regeneration or social equity, systems thinking helps you move beyond silos and surface-level symptoms to address root causes and patterns of change. This session will help you make sense of complexity, collaborate more effectively, and unlock new possibilities for transformation.

What to expect

In this immersive primer, you’ll be guided through proven tools like the Iceberg Model and 3D Mapping (physical modelling of systems), grounded in real-life reflections from fellow participants. Come ready to engage with your head, heart, and hands.

Together, we will:

  • Practice systems thinking: see beyond events to the deeper patterns and structures driving them

  • Build systems awareness: see how different stakeholders experience the same system

  • Strengthen systems sensing: uncover relationships and hidden dynamics

What You'll Walk Away With
  • A personal insight into a complex challenge you care about—seen through a systems lens

  • Two foundational tools you can start applying right away (Iceberg Model and 3D Mapping)

  • A felt sense of how to think systemically, sense collectively, and act with intention

  • Exclusive access to a closed-group Systems Collective community of fellow changemakers working across sectors

  • An invitation to deepen your practice through our Systems Strategy Lab, with an exclusive 20% discount for Primer alumni

See the bigger picture.

Collaborate better.

Unlock new possibilities.

Frequently asked questions

What's the size of the workshop?

We are targeting 15 participants to ensure personalised attention.

I can’t make it for these dates. Is there another run of this workshop?

Please follow us on LinkedIn to get updated when the next sessions open.

We also offer tailored versions of this workshop for teams and organizations. If you're looking to build systems awareness in-house, we’d love to explore what that could look like. You can reach out to us here.

Who is this workshop for?

This primer is for changemakers working in environmental or social impact — whether you're from an NGO, social entreprise, impact venture, community group, funder, or a policymaker. No prior experience with systems thinking is needed. If you're wrestling with complexity and want fresh ways of seeing and shifting systems, you're welcome.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Nope — just come with an open mind, open heart and open will.

That said, you'll get the most out of the workshop if you bring along a real-world systems challenge you're working on or curious about. This could be something from your work or community — big or small, clear or fuzzy.

What happens after this session?

You’re welcome to treat this as a stand-alone experience — but if you’re curious to go deeper, you’ll also get an invitation to our next Systems Strategy Lab, a follow-up workshop that introduces tools for applying systems thinking more concretely in your work. No obligation — just an open door if the Primer sparks something for you.

What our participants say

I like that this big topic of systems thinking was broken down into smaller understandable parts and there was a good use of interactive activities to reinforce learning. Also enjoyed the group aspect to learn from peers too.

Claudia Tan

Pei Ya is a great facilitator — she is able to break down complex processes into simple explanations & guide us to explore topics of our choice with ease. Her warm & down-to-earth personality also made the workshop space feel very welcoming & gave us room to relax & co-create openly together.

Navigating problems through a lens of systems thinking and solving them using reputed and reliable models such as iceberg model was something new and hopeful for me. The amount of change we all can bring by beginning to think in a multi-directional way to shift our own mental models is so powerful. I walked out of the room with hope and curiosity to learn and implement this in my studies and work.
